What I'm Taking Home
Sometimes a different environment reveals the life you've been ready to create
I’ve been staying in a high-rise downtown Austin this past week. Every morning I’ve found myself looking out at a view that’s completely different from the one I’m used to.
I started doing a July Fit for Summer with my friend Paola, an Intuitive Nourishment Teacher. I’m only halfway through, and I can already feel a difference. I’m moving my body more and eating three nourishing meals a day.
Yesterday, as I stood at the stove making breakfast, I started remembering my dream about snakes and how snakes have been showing up over the last few weeks. As I scrambled everything together, I was thinking about snake essence.
I’ve always associated snakes with moving forward and shedding their old skin to grow. They also remind me of rest, digestion, and the nourishment required to receive. Receiving might be the hardest thing we practice.
Monday afternoon, I spent some time journaling about what this experience was inviting me to shed.
What do I want to be seen for?
What part of me still performs, shrinks, or overgives?
This time I wasn’t trying to think my way into clarity.
I was trying to feel my way there.
Feeling what new standards and routines I want to take home with me next week.
These need to feel like devotion rather than another task.
Three anchors emerged to create more peace
Environment
Less clutter. Intentional placement. Everything has a home.
Body
Three nourishing ideal meals a day. Daily movement. Strength training three times a week
Visibility
Leave my space. Attend events. Take my computer somewhere beautiful and write.
Standing at the stove, I wasn’t thinking about peace. I was already inside it. That’s how I know these standards weren’t rules. They were the shape of a life I’d been ready for.
What is one non-negotiable your future self is asking you to honor?
What is one small standard that would help your life feel more like devotion than obligation?
Moving slower isn’t about doing less. It’s about caring for your nervous system, not just your schedule.
If you’ve been feeling off or need space to reset, I’d love to have you join me in The Circle on Tuesday evening. RSVP.
I’m opening it on a new platform; you can sign up to be the first to receive information.
